Gabriel is a Cure Angelman Now (CAN) fund raiser. This campaign is supported by the Foundation of Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST). We started his annual fundraising goal at $5,000 in 2019. Our friends and family generously met and exceeded his goal each year raising over $50,000 through the years. His 2025 goal is $15,000! To support Team Angelman Gabriel and AS research please DREAM BIG with us and click here to donate.
Each year we bring awareness to AS by participating in the Angelman Syndrome Foundation Walk. Our first year was in Reading, then a few virtual walks during COVID, then in 2022 we coordinated the first Angelman Syndrome Foundation (ASF) Walk on Kelly Drive here in Philadelphia. AS families from all over PA and NJ came together and raised $16,000! In 2023, the ASF Philadelphia walk grew to 400 participants and together they raised over $55,000! The walk was held in Philadelphia again in 2024 and together we raise over $60,000! In 2025, the Angelman Strong walk will be held in Plymouth Meeting on May 17 and we hope to break our previous fundraising goals! Register for the walk, join Team Angelman Gabriel, or consider donating. Thank you to all of our family and friends who supported Gabriel during this event!

International Angelman Day is celebrated on February 15 each year. In past years, we’ve brought awareness to the community by wearing blue, sending flyers to the kids’ schools explaining AS and the research underway, and of course eating all things blue! In 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 we turned the Philadelphia skyline blue by commissioning the most recognizable buildings to turn their lights to blue for the night! The buildings that participated include One Liberty Place, Two Liberty Place, Boathouse Row, Lincoln Financial Field, BNY Mellon Bank Building, FMC Tower, The Civic, Cira Centre and, Cira South Garage. We are hoping this becomes an annual tradition.
In February of 2023 Drexel University Women’s Basketball team honored Gabriel during their “Assisting Others” night. In 2024 the Dragons brought awareness to Angelman syndrome during their “Unity Day”. The team also came to the ASF Philadelphia Walk two years in a row as volunteers. We appreciate their help and love being partners with them. Go Dragons!

The Angelman Syndrome Foundation sponsors a program called Friends with Wings. It’s a group for siblings and friends of siblings to connect and share their AS-life experiences. In 2022, Gabe’s older sister, Maddie, organized a Friends with Wings Hot Chocolate stand that raised over $300 in one afternoon!
In 2021, Linda ran a virtual marathon in the month of October. She ran and walked her butt off logging over 150 miles. Yes, walking counted too! That month we raised $2,671.49 to support clinics, research, and family resources through ASF!
